The Heritage Open Days Festival is taking place in September, with St Paul's Church taking part and opening up on Saturday 20th from 10am-3pm. There will be talks from Dr. Louise Hampson on the life of Sir Basil Spence, who designed the Church building, and the links between St Paul's and Coventry Cathedral at 11am and 1pm.
Every student at Chaucer will be given this equipment kit on Tuesday the 2nd of September.
From Wednesday the 3rd of September, we expect every child to be fully equipped every day. Students arriving at form time in the morning without a pen, pencil and ruler will receive a detention. Pens, pencils and rulers will be available to buy for 10p each at Student Services each morning.
We know that being ready to learn every day improves student ability to make progress, and we expect students to take responsibility for this.
We hope you have all had a wonderful summer holiday so far.
Just a reminder to all families. Chaucer School will reopen to students on Tuesday 2nd September 2025.
Students at Chaucer School are celebrating receiving their GCSE results Students and staff at Chaucer School located on Wordsworth Avenue and part of INOVA Multi-Academy Trust, are celebrating today as they receive their GCSE grades.
The Academy is proud to report a year of strong results, which reflect students’ hard work, ambition and the supportive environment they receive. The overall Attainment 8 figure shows that students received improved grades in their 8 best subjects compared to last year – continuing Chaucer’s trend in recent years of more and more students passing more and more subjects.
Most subjects showed an increase in grades 4 and above, with French, Art, BTEC Sport, Health and Social Care and Photography doing over 20% better than previously, and Geography, History, Business, IT and Catering more than 10% improved.
Joanna Crewe, Headteacher at Chaucer School, said:
“We’re really pleased to see yet another set of improved results for our students. Chaucer students in Year 11 this year improved their attendance, their behaviour, and we knew that improved results would be their reward. I’m proud of how many more students can now go on to their chosen Post 16 destinations with successes under their belt. Thank you to the students for their hard work and commitment, and to their families for supporting us to support them. All staff are proud of how far Year 11 have come, and how much of a difference our work with them has made.”
