  • Importance of sleep

    To all Chaucer families, Healthy Minds have produced a resource to share with you around the importance of sleep.  It highlights some important information around sleep and some tips to create healthy habits with your child and signposts further support.

    We are a Healthy Minds school and as such have an Educational Mental Health Practitioner from the NHS Mental Health Support Team based in school every Wednesday. Please contact your child's year team for further information on the service and how we can support your child's wellbeing in school.

    We are delighted to have set up a new partnership with a school in Ukraine, offering our students the opportunity to connect with their Ukrainian peers on a project that celebrates the joy of reading. Through the British Council’s UK-Ukraine School Partnerships programme, which is funded by the UK Government, we’ve teamed up with Mukachevo Specialised school No.4. Together, we’ll explore how reading can broaden horizons, build confidence, and enhance mental wellbeing.

  • Celebrating Holi - Friday 14th March 2025

    Let's all celebrate the festival of Holi together!

    This coming Friday marks the Hindu festival of Holi which celebrates colour, love and the arrival of Spring. Students can wear something brightly coloured as part of the uniform, such as coloured socks, a hat, hair bobbles etc. We are also doing Henna art in the Art department over both lunches! Come along and try out some Henna this Friday!

    Spring: Holi marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
    Love: Holi celebrates the love between the Hindu deities Radha and Krishna.
    Good over evil: Holi commemorates the victory of Vishnu as Narasimha over Hiranyakashipu.

  • DTP and MENACWY vaccinations.

    A message from the School Age Administration Team.
    Dear Parents/Carers of Year 9 students,
    We will attend school to vaccinate Y9 students for the Booster dose of DTP Diphtheria, Tetanus & Polio along with Meningococcal ACWY. We will also offer the HPV Human Papilloma Vaccine if they did not receive this in Y8.

    Please copy this link https://www.sheffieldchildrensvaccinations.co.uk/Forms/DTP to complete the consent form for DTP and MENACWY. The option to consent or decline the vaccinations is at the end of the questionnaire, so please complete this even if you do not want your child to have the vaccinations.

    Please copy this link https://www.sheffieldchildrensvaccinations.co.uk/Forms/HPV to complete the consent form for HPV, but only if your child did not have HPV last year.

    If you consented for HPV last year but your child did not get vaccinated, we will vaccinate them using the consent submitted last year.

  • Year 7 Parents Evening 12th March 2025

    Booking is now available via MCAS for our Year 7 Parents evening. Which will be taking place on Wednesday 12th March 2025, from 4.00pm - 6.30pm. This is an opportunity for parents/carers to meet teachers and discuss the progress that their children are making in school. Paper copies of the latest Year 7 reports will be available for collection.
