  • Year 7 Author Visit

    On Monday 2nd December, Jennifer Claessen will be hosting an assembly for our Year 7 students, about how to become an author, sharing her top writing tips and answering any questions our students might have on the topic. Jennifer also teaches creative writing in theatres and at university level and will be running a workshop designed to show how writing can be fun!

    Dear parents and carers

    Given the severe weather forecast for overnight, I'm taking the step of deciding today that Chaucer School will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday 19th November 2024). Many students travel from across the city, and staff from further afield, and I must consider their safety. Even though many students could walk into school with heavy snow, I cannot guarantee there will be enough staff to run school safely.

  • GCSE Celebration Evening 2024

    🎉 Year 11 2024 Leavers - GCSE Celebration Evening🎉
    ⏰ Monday 2nd December, 5.30pm, Main Hall
    All 2024 Y11 leavers and their parents / carers are invited to a GCSE Celebration Evening. Certificates will be awarded for all qualifications, along with additional rewards from all subject areas and the year team. Refreshments will be provided. We hope that you will join us in celebrating the efforts and achievements of Year 11 2024. Mr Breslin and Mrs Scholey will, of course, be there and can’t wait to see everybody. We will ensure that everybody has a chance to catch up with each other. Invites have been sent via post, so please return these to school reception as soon as possible.

    We are letting you know that we will be talking about White Ribbon UK in school this month in preparation for White Ribbon Day on Monday 25th November. We will be undertaking activities that help students understand the attitudes and behaviours that encourage greater gender equality and challenge harmful attitudes that impede equality. White Ribbon is a global movement working towards ending violence against women and girls by engaging men and boys to stop it before it starts.
